The Kiwi Gun Blog has asked every political Party in New Zealand for their firearms policy. So that our readers can then make an informed decision on who to vote for come the next election.
The United Future Party declined to respond in any way.
The centrist party contested its first election in 2002.
The leader, Peter Dunne, is the party’s only MP.
In 2013 the Electoral Commission cancelled United Future’s registration at the party’s request after it failed to retain 500 members.
The party faced another embarrassment after one election when it was discovered that one of its list MPs, Kelly Chal, was not a New Zealand citizen. Thus ineligible to stand for parliament.
At the last election the United Future Party took only .22% of the total vote.
The Party claims to be liberal but previous comments on firearms have raised concerns.
