Here is an interesting story sent to us by a reader – Steve C.

The man involved has name suppression for the moment.

Not Steve, the other guy…

The late January headline was; ‘Rich-lister **** ******’s son facing drug charges in Christchurch’.

Apparently Police raided a property on Lincoln’s Ellesmere Rd and found 138 cannabis plants, a small amount of methamphetamine and $20,000 in cash were found in a garage.

Several firearms and ammunition were also found, including two pistols. The man did not have a firearms licence, police said.

Police said a 51-year-old man, who has known gang connections, was arrested. He is due to appear in court on January 31 facing charges relating to the cultivation and possession of cannabis, possession of methamphetamine and firearms charges.

Stuff understands the man is **** ******, who owns the property. **** ****** is the son of rich-lister and philanthropist **** ******.

******’s net worth was listed as $100 million in the 2015 National Business Review Rich List.

It will be interesting to see if another rich man buys a pass.

Or if he even needs to with a gun charge in a New Zealand court.

We understand that he reappears in court on the 27th April.

The Kiwi Gun Blog have asked the Police media center for an update on this case. Stay tuned.
