More Police Lies

Oh look…

From the NZ Police Union Magazine.

More lies and deception.

Its one thing for them to lie to the public – but now they lie to their own membership?

Someone is Feeling Defensive

police mag

We are pretty sure that this is the President, Cahill, writing to his own magazine.

He seems to be the only one to have an issue with Pistol shooting in New Zealand.

The Lies

Well… Now we know where the media get the ridiculous term ‘Military grade’ firearm from. What an earth is one of those? Something from a lowest bidder?

As for the power of a modern military cartridge…. Anyone who knows anything about shooting knows that modern military arms fire an ‘Intermediate’ cartridge. Of intermediate range and power.

To suggest that these are some how more deadly than a common sporting rifle is the height of ignorance. Yet the union speaks of civilians owning ‘Military calibers’ as if this is an issue? They are living in the distant, distant past with this thinking.

When did some European nations ban civilians from owning military calibers in current use? France and Spain? They were a laughing stock to the rest of the shooting world. This warped thinking died a death several decades ago.

The letter then goes on to invent an issue with the sport of pistol shooting in New Zealand. Not for the first time either. Is this the next target of the Police Union? How will this sport be ‘Balanced’?

It also avoids addressing ANY of the concerns raised by shooters at the extra legal abuses of Police involved in management of the Arms Act. Instead the ‘Letter’ simply lies about the cause. Extraordinary.

The letter does the same for complaints to the Independent Police Complaints Authority. This writer personally wrote to complain about how unsafe the Police stations were when shooters needed to produce weapons for their arms officer.

I didn’t complain about burglary prevention. I was trying to prevent burglary by the criminals who followed me home from the Police station.

Oh and now apparently ‘Domestically stored firearms’ are a thing? Would the Police association prefer a central armory?

Did they seriously suggest that MSSAs can be delivered to the country with no note being made of the serial numbers? Wow. Customs will be interested to know this. Oh and the Police who check and record all the guns entering as well. Utter fear-mongering.

This ‘Long range’ target shooting appears a real problem doesn’t it? The Police Union concern must be a result of all the sniper murders that New Zealand has suffered. Never. Even so – it looks like these shooters need a ‘Balancing’ as well.

What extraordinary deceit. Stuart Nash would be proud.

The Biggest Lie

It appears as if the Police Union now have their sights set on long range shooters. The letter claims that the 1983 act could not imagine kiwi shooters investing in expensive rifles that would shoot out to a kilometer.

Except for the Ballinger Belt  contest. The one we have been holding since 1861. It is the oldest sporting trophy competed for in New Zealand. So… Our legislators did not have to imagine such a sporting interest as it had already been established for 122 years.

The NRA are also holding the Long Range World championships in New Zealand in 2019. Contrary to another statement in the ‘Letter’ – it is indeed common for people around the world to enjoy this sport.

Check out the video HERE

Also a Labour Party rat about twenty seconds in… Chris Hipkins. The same prick who wanted to ban gun advertising and told Parliament “I am not a large fan of firearms” and “I would not like to see us changing the law in any way that made it more likely for people to own firearms”.

The Kiwi Gun Blog have asked the Police for a list of sniper murders in New Zealand since the 1861 contest began.

Anything over 100 meters. Stay tuned.

  1. Why don’t you ask the police why they no longer use Seddon range in treatham ? a range administrated by the NZ military.

See if the can confirm the rumours on the street that the military banned them because of multiple breaches of range safety protocols.

    1. This is true and not only the Seddon Range. They were banned from the Allen Range(50mtr pistol ) as well. Could not stay inside the Range cone of fire and multiple safety breaches. Also ask why the Range at the Police College was closed for 2 yrs for a rebuild. We hear so much bullet damage to infrastructure including the roof/ceiling.

About ten years ago, when police were looking to move to increased availability of firearms to front line officers, I suggested to those responsible that it was time that police grew to maturity and established purpose built ranges nationally. That didn’t happen, instead the decision was made to essentially continue to free load off civilian clubs. Not a good call!

Maybe once the Police get their own ranges, they will return the favour and allow civilians to shoot on them……….yeah/ nah

It appears that our forefathers merely checked them for a while, did not hang them all, and left the horror for us to once again confront.

Will we have the intestinal fortitude to finally deal with this resurgent facisim?

… or will we fight and die – rather than become its slaves – and it prevail to lead the WHOLE WORLD into a thousand years of darkness and despair?

  5. Mabey Cahill is referring to the 10 or less 50cal bolt actions for sale in NZ at over $15k each…..hardly the issue when crims prefer cheap disposable weapons like sawn off shotguns and bush guns.

    1. Police National HQ have no control over what Mr Cahill is publicizing, but as he obviously knows nothing about shooting sports he is simply reciting what he is being presented with from other sources – the anti shooting sports group in Parliament; which includes – Green Party MP’s, Labour Party MP’s and National Party MP’s; with National now running for cover!
Police HQ has also played a major roll in this and during the last two years have destroyed the NZMSC, destroyed the study & test requirements, destroyed the vetting process, destroyed the security requirements, destroyed the licensing process (it now takes at least seven months to get a new licence and/or a renewal) and they have alieanated all firearm importers; hence the pending legal action against them!

      1. Perhaps it is more likely he is being fed poisonous rubbish from anti-gun sources within his own hierarchy – or simply doing what he knows they will approve of.

In the authoritarian, orders from the top down structure of Police it is naive to believe he is not reacting to the command structure.

Either that – or perhaps he is playing Police and attempting to impose his [or his external masters] particular brand of hoplophobia upon the entire organisation!

Regarding Mr Cahill – why has he been completely silent about the murder in Invercargill? If it had been a person with a firearms licence he would have been hammering us again!

In 1997 I met with Justice Thorp who was just starting his Firearms Control research. He wanted to discuss with me – How firearm dealers kept records and the firearms safety distance course offered by the Technical Correspondence Institute.
The day before the meeting I’d heard that he had given the NZ Pistol Association a really hard time; so my first comment to him was “What we are looking for from you is constructive recommendations to the Government – not destructive!”
“Oh yes, but I have to take into account what has happened in the UK, Canada & Australia.”
I suggested to him that the also needed to take into account what happens in civilised country like – Italy, France, Norway, Sweden, Spain & Switzerland.
His response was “Okay, but the United Nations want to ban all these things.”
I have since determined that all this anti-private ownership comes from the UN and its puppet the EU.
Yet, the leading suppliers of armaments to ISIS are the permanent members of the UN Security Council!

  7. Its interesting that the police have been asked for a record of firearm accidents they have had and their response to the person who asked that question, was, they don’t have any . I have a list of something like 80 accidental discharges of Glocks over about 9 years. We know of a person under arrest was shot while handcuffed , another killed by a ricochet bullet in Auckland and a recent newspaper article that the police only occasionally shoot themselves , not counting the $25,000 of taser misuse and accidents. Apparently if your a NZ rifle club President and rock off a round in the parking lot of a range while the match is going on, the police do nothing about it, and their worried about the safety of secured firearms in the boots of cars while the clubs serve booze to the shooters ! Then the Police pick a shooting club President that serves that booze to shooters, to represent civilian representative on their proposed law, duh !
Avoid alcohol or drugs while handling firearms. The same words that the club president has been preaching for 20 years and then ignore what was preached.

The latest edition of the Arms Code has apparently been withdrawn after SSANZ pointed out to the Minister of Police that the revised code was full of police ‘inventions’ that had nothing whatever to the Arms Act or the Regulations!

    Like

    1. After we pointed it out to SSANZ yes 🙂 Just a tyrannical wish list – all based on a UN document that the Blog has detailed before. Not acceptable. Good on all the shooters who wrote to the minister.
