Police National HQ just sent this out to FACF members:
Please circulate around your memberships ASAP to avoid further confusion.
You will all be aware that Police’s Response and Operations Group has been reviewing the Arms Code – last published in 2013. Some of you may have been consulted on aspects that needed updating.
Today it came to the attention of Police National Headquarters that an early version had been placed on Police’s internet site.
For your information the document has been taken off the website. It is our intention to complete our review of the Arms Code and this process will include consultation with FCAF members. The aim is for the update to be published in hard copy form and on the website by mid-July.
In the meantime I would be grateful if you could pass on the above information to your members who may have expressed concern.
A reader pointed out that: “A quick check of the PDF properties shows that the published Arms Code was created on 06/03/2017. This, combined with the fact it was also printed and distributed (possibly as early as April), proves that it is certainly not a mistake nor a “draft”.
Indeed. These bold, shameless lies from the Police are starting to really offend.
New Arms Code in July
So… we will learn what ‘Aspects that needed updating’ then?
We clearly need to hound Police for the wording of this document LONG before the new guide goes to print.
The 2017 New Zealand general election is scheduled to be held on Saturday 23 September.
That wording will change a lot of votes.
