Police Refuse to Justify Their Illegal Policy

The Kiwi Gun Blog has recently reminded shooters of the established right to own firearms for self defense in New Zealand.

This despite Police pretending otherwise.

We followed up on the frankly contemptible previous response from Police and insisted that they show us – IN LAW – where their current policy was justified.

This was the response received today:

Wow.

If a Policeman wants to search you – they need to quote the Act of Parliament granting them the power to do so in that instance.

Here we have Police simply stripping the nation of an established right because “We say so”.

When asked to justify this illegal policy they claim both that they cant AND cant be bothered even looking for the reason.

This is where we are boys and girls.

Wherever you stand on the issue of firearms for self defense – this level of contempt is clearly demonstrative of the rot at Police National HQ.

We need – at the very least – an independent oversight agency now. With teeth.

Ideally, Police should be stripped of management of the Arms Act.

They have proven, time and again, to simply not be up to the task.

Things. Must. Change.

Yes – A complaint has been made to the Ombudsman.
