Christopher Ray Holes had been facing a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He had ‘accidentally’ shot a resident in the arm in Stokes Valley on Christmas Eve last year
The man was shot in the forearm and elbow, and is unlikely to regain full use of the limb.
Don’t read that quickly – thank about that. Imagine this is someone you love.
Now read on.
On December 24 last year, the victim heard raised voices across the road from a property he was at, and went to check on the situation.
He found Holes and another man inside the car with guns, with the second man standing beside the car in a threatening manner.
Holes tried to scare the man off by firing the gun, instead shooting the victim in the left arm.
Holes, who was disqualified from driving, then quickly drove off, but was found by police a short time later.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a sawnoff shotgun and 15 cartridges, a sharpened piece of steel, a claw hammer, and utensils for consuming methamphetamine.
Four days into his court case, after great expense to the taxpayer, the creature then gives up and pleads guilty to a reduced charge. ‘Careless use of a firearm’.
Holes also admitted to nine other charges he had been facing, including two charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and explosives.
His sentence? One year and eight months’ in jail. But with parole we believe that will be ten months.
So he has a history of contempt for the law. He acquires a criminally modified shotgun. He uses it in crime. He admits to shooting towards one human. He permanently cripples another human. He doesn’t cooperate with Police and THAT is the result.
