What Is The Penalty For Forging a Firearm License and Purchasing a Shotgun Illegally?

Another case of interest.

This scumbag made a fake firearm’s license.

Then purchased a firearm with it.

But shooters were on to him and had contacted Police.

He was later sentenced and found guilty of subverting the system with this document AND possession of illegal firearms.

His penalty….

Three months.

He was out by the time that the shooter involved asked Police for a progress report on the case.

The Kiwi Gun Blog have confirmed the details with a detective involved in the case.

Our man Josh was already known to Police as a criminal but the detective was unsure if the offender had prior convictions for gun crime.

His capture was delayed due to the scumbag simply ignoring probation meetings.

So Police then intended to wait to collect him in court.

Where he was due to appear on a previous offence.

Angry yet?

Where are all the “assault rifles” he might have bought with fake Permits to Procure ???
    … or was it a “semi-auto” shotgun?

  2. Wow. The cops want to nail us actual FAL holders on any little thing they can yet do basically nothing to a convicted criminal once they find out he has a fake one.

It would have gone like this: “Dudes! There is a guy with a FAL who has a previous convictions somehow, lets nail him!”. But then they found out it was only a fake FAL and were like “ahh stink, takes all the fun out of it, can’t get one up on actual FAL holders this time, oh well, just put him in for a couple of weeks. Don’t worry that he was obviously going to use the guns he got for more serious crime”.

I respect the Police greatly and there are loads of awesome ones, but man, these ones are they quickly giving the whole force a pretty crap name.

  4. Nah, it would have gone like this, hey fellow cops there is this guy using a fake FAL buying guns for his gang mates………oooooo gangster……. too scary, let’s leave him alone, safer if we molest some genuine gun owner or see if anyone is doing 4ks over the limit. Anyway if we bust him the judge won’t give him any decent time anyway.

Well, the most dangerous jobs in NZ are show cleaners, rubbish collectors and laborers (according to ACC). There’s got to be a reason being a policeperson is so safe; taking on the easy targets would surely be one of them. Apparently it’s actually more dangerous to be married to a sworn officer than to be an officer.
