Police Can Show No Crimes Solved By Firearm Importation Records

So Police want to record and register ALL firearms in New Zealand.

Like they do with MSSA ‘E’ Category rifles.

But when those occasionally appear in gang hands then the Police Union want them banned outright.

Because the registration of those did nothing to prevent their use in crime.

The Kiwi Gun Blog has been doing all we can with court records and Police data to try to find the truth behind the headlines.

HOW are gangs getting these guns?

Many arms are found with serial numbers still there. So they can be tracked to their once lawful owner. Or by importation and dealer records to a criminal who modified them to possess ‘E’ category features.

But nobody will give us this information.

Why?

We suspect its because the truth makes a mockery of the Police / Police Union narrative.

If gangs are importing guns with their drugs – then no amount of additional security or registration or anything other than harsh penalties will help.

The response took three times the legally required response time.

Why dont Police have this information to hand?

To share with our lawmakers so that they may make informed decisions.

    Here we go again, The Canadian police tried to register all of their citizens firearms and it cost the country billions and achieved nothing. NZ Police had all or 99.99% of firearms accounted for with the old Firearm register but were told not to scrap it by more than a few shooting Associations throughout NZ at the time and the NZ Police knew better. No-one in their right mind is going to register all of their firearms because as soon as they think they have got most forearms registered they will then take firearms away from citizens of NZ. All part of the big UN plan.

      Are you day drinking Wayne? You quote Canada as the last example of registration proving useless and then suggest that our Police should have kept it? It was 66% inaccurate. You ARE correct that governments only register to later confiscate.

    everyone of my firearms is photographed, its make model and serial number recorded.
    if any do get stolen the police will be given that information no questions asked. until then no bloody way !
